At least 24 Palestinians were killed and 93 others injured during Israeli airstrikes on Sunday. The attacks targeted the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque and the Ibn Rushd School in central Gaza.

Both sites were housing hundreds of displaced persons, according to Hamas-run media.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the strikes were “precise” operations against Hamas militants.

They claimed the targets included a command-and-control center located within the Ibn Rushd School and the Shuhada al-Aqsa Mosque.

The airstrikes come as part of a larger offensive by Israel against Hamas. This operation began following a deadly attack on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants crossed into southern Israel.

That incursion resulted in the deaths of around 1,200 Israelis and the capture of about 250 hostages.

As the conflict continues, the death toll in Gaza has escalated. Health authorities in the region reported that 41,825 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the Israeli attacks.

The ongoing violence has led to widespread devastation and a growing humanitarian crisis.

The situation in Gaza remains critical, with many civilians caught in the crossfire. The international community has called for restraint and a ceasefire, but tensions remain high.

Both sides continue to suffer heavy casualties, raising concerns about the long-term implications of the conflict.

Reports indicate that the humanitarian situation is deteriorating rapidly. Access to basic necessities, including food and medical supplies, is increasingly restricted. The plight of those displaced by the violence is becoming more dire by the day.

As the airstrikes persist, calls for a resolution grow louder. The world watches closely, hoping for a path to peace amid the escalating violence.
