PROTESTERS TAKE IT TO THE CHURCH

After the 2nd reading of the financial bill on Thursday 13th June,2024, the protests against the financial bill in Kenya intensified as today the youths occupied the churches fully to enhance the message against the financial bill in Kenya.

This comes after the antigovernment activists urged the youth to fully oppose the MPs who voted YES for the financial bill. As the rule of the day was to deplatform politicians who were against will of the people in the churches.

This was witnessed today from different churches across the country as some of the Members of Parliament were booed and heckled at when they tried addressing the congregants.

In Nyahururu , where President William Ruto , Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and other dignitaries attended a church service at  ACK , the government was forced to enhance the security maximumly with presence of many GSU officers fully armed to core locking out members of the public from accessing the church premises. The president acknowledged the protests and agreed to hold a dialogue with the Gen Z activist to discuss the financial bill and amend it effectively to accommodate all the wants of the youth and other Kenyans included.

At Holy Family Church Basilica, Nairobi, the youth took it to the altar to express their rage against the financial bill urging all members to fully come out on the called demonstrations to reject the bill.

With strong support from Jacob Ole Sapit , he urged the Gen Z protesters to continue with the protests terming it as the right thing and terming the police brutality as unexpected and unextraordinary attack to the innocent public. This comes with support from other church leaders included.

This only comes only days before the grand mass protest organized to be on Tuesday the 25th  this faces a serious backlash and criticism from the government through the government spokesman , Isaac Mwaura claiming the riots are sponsored and funded by an international donor.
