

President William Ruto has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Lamu Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua Ndung’u. In a statement on X, Ruto described Ndung’u as a progressive leader.
“I’m saddened by the news of the passing away of the Deputy Governor of Lamu County Raphael Munyua Ndung’u,” Ruto said. “He was a progressive leader who worked tirelessly for the greater good of the people of Lamu.”
Ruto extended his condolences to Ndung’u’s family and friends. “Our love and prayers to the family, friends, and the people of Lamu County at this sad moment,” he continued. “Rest in peace.”
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro also offered his condolences to Lamu residents. Nyoro noted that Ndung’u had been unwell for some time.
“Our sincere condolences to the great people of Lamu County following the passing on of Deputy Governor Hon Raphael Munyua Ndung’u,” Nyoro said. “He has not been feeling well for some time. Our thoughts are with the family.”
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah praised Ndung’u’s leadership qualities. Ichung’wah called him a committed and visionary leader.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, leadership, and the entire community of Lamu County,” Ichung’wah said. “Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua Ndung’u’s untimely passing will be deeply missed.”
“He was a committed and visionary leader whose dedication to the people of Lamu will be remembered,” he added. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the people of Lamu during this time of grief. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
