The High Court in Nakuru Court has ordered the arrest of Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii and his former deputy John Barorot for failing to appear in court.

The Senior Principal Magistrate, Peter Ndege ordered the arrest of the two when they failed to appear to testify in the Ksh.1 billion Finland education scholarship scandal.

The court also issued summons for two witnesses in the case including Mercy Tarus and Joel Koech.

In 2023 the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission started investigations into the alleged embezzlement of the Ksh.1 billion by official of the Uasin Gishu County Government.

EACC has established that the Uasin Gishu Education Trust Fund Account was opened in May 2021 and by December 2022 and Ksh.957,167,143 had been credited to the account by parents.
