

An uproar has erupted online as Stabex has won a competitive tender within a week to supply jet fuel at JKIA. This happened only few days after the government announced shortage of fuel through the airport leading to some delays.
According to x critic Amerix , he expressed sarcasm through his tweet:

On x several users have claimed that the fuel shortage was a preplanned event to allow Stabex win the tender on few hours later.
The company has its’ headquarter in Uganda and is the main oil supply in Uganda.
The company also won tender in January 2023 to supply the Kenya Army fuel after many years of National Oil supply.
The Registrar of Companies lists three businessmen as shareholders of the oil marketing firm. Stabex has a nominal share capital of 500 million and 1 million ordinary shares valued at Ksh 500 each.
The largest shareholder is Jackson Kiplimo Chebett, with 925,000 ordinary shares. Chebett is also the executive director.


Abraham Kipkoech Korir is ranked second with 50,000 ordinary shares, while Daniel Kiprop Cherutich (general manager) holds 25,000.
Other members of Stabex’s leadership team are Mustafa Bett (managing director), Justus Kiptoo (finance manager), Kafeero Isaac (company secretary), and Boniface Kipchirchir (head of operations).
