RUSSIAN STRIKES WOUND 41 IN KHARKIV; ZELENSKY URGES INCREASED WESTERN SUPPORT AMID NEW DRONE ATTACKS ON RUSSIA

Russian air strikes have injured at least 41 people in Kharkiv, officials report.

Regional head Oleh Syniehubov stated, “Five children are among those wounded.” He accused Moscow of “aiming exclusively at civilian infrastructure.”

The strikes damaged a supermarket and a sports complex, both frequented by residents.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, saying, “Russia is once again terrorizing Kharkiv.” He called for Western allies to “give Ukraine everything it needs to defend itself.”

Syniehubov added that at least 10 separate strikes had been recorded. “These included the use of ballistic missiles,” he noted.

He warned that people might be buried under rubble. “Rescue operations are ongoing,” Syniehubov said. Social media videos show one strike northeast of Kharkiv, along Akademika Pavlova St.

Another strike, three miles south, damaged the Palace of Sport buildings. Images from these attacks show the moment of impact and explosion from missiles.

The strikes follow Ukraine’s overnight drone attacks on Russia. Russian officials reported fires at two energy facilities, with no injuries or deaths.

Russia’s defence ministry claimed more than 158 Ukrainian drones targeted 15 regions. “The drones were intercepted and destroyed,” the military stated.

As a result of the attacks, a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Moscow. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported, “A fire occurred in a separate technical room.”

He noted that at least 11 drones targeted Moscow and nearby areas. In the Tverregion, 75 miles from Moscow, loud blasts were heard near the Konakovo Power Station.

Russian media reported a fire at the facility. Governor Igor Rudenya confirmed the fire was contained.

Local officials also noted an attempt to attack the Kashira Power Plant. “There were no fires, damage, or casualties,” they reported.
