Ann Adhiambo Akinyi , convicted as the main suspect involved with the asssasination of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has been arrested. She has been on the run since last week Thursday where she met her arrest in Kibra in an intelligence-led operation by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives. She is currently being held at the Muthaiga Police Station awaiting transfer to Kilimani Police Station where her matter will be handled.
Eric Maigo was stabbed 25 times on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023. The suspect was seen in videos attempting to escape from the victim’s residence at Woodley Annex–Upper by scaling through the perimeter wall.
In a statement on Friday, DCI revealed that the images of the suspect shared across the internet on Thursday had led to the recovery of the clothes she wore at Bombolulu village in Kibra. A further probe would later reveal that the suspect is aged between 15-17 years,
Another suspect, Cynthia Lusega Andalo, was previously arrested and arraigned in connection with the gruesome murder. She was however freed by court after the prosecution said they had no evidence to charge or even continue detaining the alleged suspect.
