Businessman Jimi Wanjigi reported a disturbing incident at his Muthaiga home on the night of September 28. He claims that a motorist poured approximately ten litres of blood at his gate, leaving his family shocked and anxious.
According to Wanjigi’s guards, occupants of a masked pickup stopped at the gate, poured blood from a basin, and quickly sped away. “We tried to see who they were, but they were gone in an instant,” one guard recounted. The motive for this act remains unclear.
Wanjigi insinuated that the incident was part of sustained harassment by agents of the state over his political activism. “This is intimidation. They want to silence me,” he said. “I won’t back down.”
The police, however, indicated that no official report has been filed regarding the incident. “No report has been made,” an officer confirmed.
Besides the blood incident, Wanjigi has also complained about unmarked cars parked outside his house, claiming they have jammers that disrupt communication. “Why are these vehicles here? This surveillance is unprecedented,” he lamented on September 13. “We deserve peace.”
He has faced multiple attempts by authorities to charge him in connection with anti-government protests, but the High Court in Nairobi recently ruled that he should not face any charges until further notice. “Pending the hearing, he cannot be prosecuted,” said Justice Bahati Mwamuye.
Wanjigi has publicly reprimanded government officials over poor governance and corruption. He vowed to continue speaking out against perceived injustices.
