A shocking triple murder in Eastleigh has revealed that three family members were brutally killed by individuals they knew, after kidnappers realized they had been identified by their captives.

Murdered Eastleigh Woman and her daughter.
Ransom Demand Turns Deadly
The victims, identified as a woman, her daughter, and her niece, were kidnapped and held as their abductors demanded Sh3 million in ransom. A survivor, who was also held captive but released after a ransom payment, informed detectives that the killers became violent upon realizing the victims could recognize them. Fearing exposure, the kidnappers made the tragic decision to kill the captives and dispose of their bodies.
According to detectives, each woman’s release was priced at Sh1 million, but the ransom demand quickly turned fatal when the kidnappers sensed a threat of exposure.
Gruesome Discoveries and Timeline
On October 21, Dahabo Daud Said (38), Amina Abdirashid Dahir (22), and Nusayba Abdi Mohammed (13) went missing. Tragically, their bodies were found the next day in separate locations. Dahabo’s body, discovered in Khyumbi, Machakos County, had severe injuries, including severed hands, while Amina’s and Nusayba’s bodies bore stab wounds and signs of violence, with one victim reportedly smothered.
Two severed hands, later identified as Dahabo’s, were found on October 23 in Nairobi’s South C area, along Five-Star Road. Post-mortem examinations conducted at the City Mortuary revealed the extent of the injuries, with Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor confirming torture and signs of assault on all three victims.
Survivor’s Testimony Provides Crucial Lead
The survivor’s statement has provided critical insights. She recounted that she was held alongside the other victims in a confined room, where she overheard the kidnappers debating whether to release the women, as they feared the women would reveal their identities to law enforcement. Following these deliberations, a fatal decision was made.
Her family managed to secure her release by paying Sh1 million into an Ethiopian bank account. Police have since detained a suspect linked to the incident, who was apprehended while attempting to flee.
Unraveling the Plot: Evidence and Surveillance
Detectives have seized a vehicle thought to have been used in the abduction. The car was later abandoned near Wakulima market in Nairobi, with the driver traced to Ijara, close to the Kenya-Somalia border. Analysis of mobile phone records traced the victims’ phones to locations in Eastleigh, then near General Waruinge, Hombe Road, and finally around Pangani, where one phone was turned off.
Based on these clues, investigators believe the victims were killed, then taken to different locations for disposal. Dahabo’s severed hands were left in South C, while the bodies of Amina and Nusayba were dumped in Parklands and Bahati, respectively. After dumping the bodies, the suspect is thought to have traveled to Kyumbi, where Dahabo’s body was ultimately abandoned.
Community Protests Demand Justice
The Somali community in Eastleigh has expressed grief and outrage over the murders. Business owners closed their shops on Thursday as a sign of mourning and demanded justice for the victims. Local leaders, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Kamkunji MP Yusuf Hassan, addressed the community, pledging support for justice.
Next Steps in the Investigation
Police continue to examine CCTV footage and transaction records, including fuel payments from a station where the suspect reportedly stopped during the crime spree. Investigators are reconstructing the timeline of events at key crime scenes in Parklands and Kyumbi to establish a clear sequence leading to these horrific acts.
This tragic case underscores the urgent need for heightened community security and swift justice for the victims and their families as authorities work tirelessly to hold those responsible accountable.
