A lighthearted but fiery online spat between Nyandarua Senator John Methu and Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has left their followers in stitches.

Senator Methu John Muhia

The exchange began after Methu commented on recent changes at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital (KUTRH), sparking a playful yet sharp debate.

The Leadership Change at KUTRH

Senator Methu took to Facebook to announce that Isaac Kamau, the acting CEO of KUTRH, had been replaced by Zainab Gura, who will also serve in an acting capacity. He humorously linked the leadership change to efforts to end tribalism and poor governance.

“Isaac Kamau, the acting CEO of Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital (KUTRH), has been removed and replaced by Zainab Gura, who is also acting. The board that had appointed Kamau has been disbanded. We are eradicating tribalism and nonsense politics,” Methu posted.

Karen Nyamu’s Response

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, known for her outspoken nature, responded in the comment section. She pointed out that acting roles are, by their very nature, temporary and urged Methu to understand this.

“Ask him what acting CEO means. I’m sure he knew that was a temporary capacity,” Nyamu wrote.

Methu’s Witty Comeback

Methu fired back with a cheeky response, referencing Nyamu’s well-known dancing skills.

“I will call you when people start twerking,” Methu quipped, leaving social media users amused.

The playful jab quickly gained traction, with followers applauding the humor while others noted the senators’ camaraderie despite their apparent differences.

Methu Criticizes Ruto’s Leadership in Mt Kenya

In other news, Senator Methu didn’t shy away from addressing serious political concerns. Speaking at a church service in Kangari, Kigumo, the senator expressed frustration with President William Ruto’s administration, stating that Mt Kenya residents no longer trust the Kenya Kwanza government.

“The relationship between Mt Kenya and the Kenya Kwanza administration is strained. The people feel neglected, and even the president’s emissaries face challenges when delivering condolence messages at funerals,” Methu said.

The senator, a close ally of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, emphasized the need for the government to address the region’s grievances and restore confidence among the people.
