Kenya Premier League side AFC Leopards can now sign players after their transfer ban was lifted on Monday.
FIFA lifted the ban after the club entered into a payment agreement with former coach Patrick Aussems whom they owed Sh20 million.
“We are pleased to inform you that after a series of constructive discussions between the club management and our former coach Patrick Aussems, the parties have reached an amicable resolution to the contract dispute,” the club’s National Executive Committee announced.
In a statement, the club added: “As a result, the player registration ban previously imposed on the club by FIFA has been lifted. The team now looks forward to the new season with renewed focus and determination.”
The club as lined up former Nzoia goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi, Brian Mandela, Vincent Mahiga, Gideon Were, Luke Namanda, Brian Yakhama, Boniface Munyendo, Daniel Oloo, Aziz Okaka, Hassan Beja, Cliffton Miheso and Kevin Kimani as new signings.
Further, Emmanuel Lwanga, Victor Otieno, Ronald Sinjenje and Abubakar Masha who have been training with Ingwe will be registered.
The club will further release Zachary Njite, Nesta Olum, Dan Sunguti and Boniface Mukhekhe on loan. Two week ago the club named former internationals Tom Juma and Fred Ambani as coach and assistant respectively as they seek to restore Ingwe’s lost glory.
