Three national secondary schools soccer champions St Anthony’s Kitale players have landed professional deals in Spain and the US.

Striker Adrine Kibet and centerback Emmanuel Wanjala are headed to Nastic Soccer Academy (NSA) in Tarragona, Spain while midfielder Alvin Kasavuli will join Montverd Academy in Florida, USA.

Kibet was voted the most valuable player during the national term two games that were held in Kakamega last week. He scored a brace during the finals against Dagoretti High at Bukhungu Stadium.

Sports Cabinet secretary Ababu Namwamba termed the development a new dawn for Kenyan football.  The trio is among 2, 000 top talents camping at Kasarani in Nairobi at the first ever National Sports Talent Camp organized by the Ministry of Sports.

The 2, 000 from various disciplines will undergo elite training, mentorship and scouting. They will later head to Huye in Rwanda for the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations games.

At the games, St Anthony’s Kitale populary known as the Solidarity Boys is in pool ‘A’ which also features Tanzania’s Kalangalala, Amus College and St Henry’s College Kitovu from Uganda, CGFK from Rwanda and Kenya’s other representatives Shanderema.

In pool ‘B’ Kenya’s Dagoretti faces a herculean task against Uganda’s defending champions St Mary’s Kitende and Kibuli Senior School. Other teams in the pool are Kiwira Coal Mine from Tanzania and Rwanda’s Ecose Musambira.
