Former Football Kenya Federation chairman Sam Nyamweya and Shabana patron Simba Arati have agreed to work together for the benefit of the team.
“I can confirm we I have spoken with my young brother the governor asd agreed that in a few days, we will tell our community the roadmap for Shabana in the upcoming season. We need all leaders regardless of their religious, political or clan affiliations,” said Nyamweya. Nyamweya asked fans to stop insulting leaders on social media.
“Nobody should insult any leaders because of politics. Shabana should be used to unite us as a community,” added Nyamweya. Nyamweya on Sunday issued a letter disowning Arati as Shabana patron claiming he is the legitimate patron. However, the two met and agreed to work as a team. Nyamweya was appointed the chairman of s fundraising committee for Shabana. According to Nyamweya, Nyamweya, they seeking to raise at least Sh100, 000 for the Glamour Boys.
Shabana chairman Jared Nivaton hailed Nyamweya’s move. “This is the spirit we want at Shabana. Thanks for the initiative of bringing Omogusii together regardless of political affiliations,” said Nivaton.
At the same time, several Shabana branches have been registered. Among thjose registered are, Nakuru Main, Coast Region Main, Kawangware, G6, Kangemi, Nakuru, Embakasi Main, Kilimani, Thika Road, Kitengela, 245 Branch and Kisii Main. For a branch to be registered, they must have at least 50 members and pay a registration fee of Sh10, 000. Fans pay a registration fee of Sh500. The club is targeting to register at least 10, 000 fans.
Meanwhile, Shabana remained unbeaten in the pre season after edging Sigalagala Technical Institute of Sience and Technology 2-1. The club is camping in Kkamega County for a week.
