Buoyant Rising Starlets arrived in Angola on Thursday afternoon for their second leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Angola which is set to be played on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Luanda, Angola.

Starlets won the first leg 1-0 at Nyayo National Stadium. They need a draw, a win, or a narrow loss to qualify for the next round of qualifiers.

 Head coach Beldine Odemba has however warned her charges against complacency in the second leg. “We are not going to rest on our laurels because of the huge win in the first leg. We are going to Angola for a positive result,” she said.

Captain Jane Hato said: “Our target is to win the second so that we qualify for the next round.”

The tactician has named players as part of the traveling and confirmed that the same squad from the prior match remains intact, with no reported injuries.

The outcome of this tie, determined by the aggregate score, will determine which team advances to face the winner of the second-round clash between Cameroon and Botswana in the third round. Cameroon is leading on aggregate after they beat Botswana 2-0.

This match is set to kick off at 5:30 pm EAT on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the de Junho stadium.
