Mara Sugar leapfrogged Naivas FC to the top of the National Super League after five rounds.

The Cane Millers top the log with 13 points same as Naivas but MaraSugar has a better goal difference. Over the weekend, Mara Sugar walloped the visiting Vihiga Bullets 6-0 in a one-sided match at Awendo Green Stadium in Migori.

Kisumu All Stars moved to third on the log following a third consecutive win during their 2-1 victory over Kibera Black Stars.

“Being on top of the log at the moment doesn’t mean anything. It’s just five games into the season so we shall take a game at a time,” said Mara Sugar coach Francis Xavier.

Mully Children’s Family (MCF), Darajani Gogo, and Silibwet Leons are the bottom three teams. They both remain winless in five outings while Darajani Gogo under Paul Ogai is yet to score in the league so far. Darajani Gogo parted ways with Caleb Aringa last week.

Silibwet held high-flying Nairobi United to a 1-1 draw in a game played on Sunday. Dominic Akuma scored for Silibwet before Brian Lusamakha pulled the team level.

Kajiado FC returned to winning ways after a comfortable 3-1 win over Gusii FC. Kevin Kamande, Joseph Luchenga and Dennis Mabea (on goal) scored for Kajiado in the game that was played at Ildamat grounds in Kajiado County. Joshua Ratemo scored Gusii’s consolation goal in the game which saw Kajiado finish the game with 10 men after Alfani Kateti was sent off in the 86th minute.
