AFC Leopards most active as pre-season transfer window shuts - Kenyan News

AFC Leopards was the most active FKF Premier League club during the 2023/24 pre-season transfer window, which closed on Friday.

The club brought in 19 players with six signing from Nzoia Sugar. They also released five players to Posta Rangers, Murang’a Seal, Shabana, Nairobi United, and AFC Leopards.

Nzoia Sugar came in second bringing in 18 players from Green Commandos, Tusker, Bidco United, etc, and also released 14 players.

Kenya Police was the least active in this transfer window, bringing in 4 players that is Kenyan internationals Tyson Otieno, Kenneth Muguna, and South Sudanese duo of Rashid Toha, and Tito Okello. They released six of the players.

KPL returnees Shabana FC signed 13 players. The new signings are Rodgers Aloro (Bandari FC), Mark Okola  (Vihiga United FC), Dalphine Omuri (MOFA), Johana Mwita (Bandari FC),Frank Ouya (On loan from Nairobi United FC), Japheth Lokayo  (Inter Dabaso FC),  and Prince Ayeko  (Nzoia Sugar FC),

Others are Eugene Mukangula (AFC Leopards SC), Victor Kamungo (Migori Youth FC),  Hillary Wandera (Kakamega Homeboyz FC),Enock Obiero (Kakamega Homeboyz FC), Samuel Maiko  (Gusii FC), Dennis Ongeri – (On loan Zoo FC).

Further,  the Kisii based side released Japheth Lokayo on loan to National Super League outfit Vihiga Bullets FC and Adevie Derima KPL side to Muhoroni Youth FC.

Newly promoted KPL side Murang’a Seal made nine signings. They include; Dennis Munyovi  (MCF FC),  Awita Batts (Bidco United FC),  Cornelius Juma  (Shabana FC),  Athuman Rashid  (Darajani Gogo FC)  Caleb Nyangena (Mbotela Kamaliza FC), Bonphas Munyasa  (Sofapaka FC),  Dennis Kweyu (Mara Sugar FC)  Robert Mudenyu (AFC Leopards SC) and Wilberforce Lugogo  (SS Assad FC).

They lost Fabian Adikiny (Tusker FC), Henry Omollo (Nairobi United FC), John Omondi  (Migori Youth FC)  Arvine Odoyo– (Migori youth FC).
