Kenya Premier League side KCB on Thursday unveiled Bernard Mwalala as their head coach.
The former Nzoia Sugar, Bandari, Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars replaces Zedekiah Zico Otieno who parted ways with the Bankers following the expiry of his contract.
Club Patron Azu Ogola said Mwalala brings on board a wealth of experience and a strong track record having coached at top level for several years.
Ogola expressed confidence in the new coach noting that his entry ushers in a new era for the team as it looks to elevate it’s performance record in the upcoming Kenya Premier League season and regional football encounters.”
We are excited to have Mwalala on board. His experience will come in handy in delivering a positive impact on the team’s performance going into the future,” Ogola said. Mwalala expressed his excitement after being unveiled.
“I’m fully committed to building a strong and competitive team that will deliver positive results on the field. Our focus is go for top honors in all available tournaments,” said Mwalala.
KCB’s head of integrated marketing Nkatha Mutungi emphasized the bank’s commitment to bolstering its sports teams.
The bank will invest Sh 3 billion in various sports disciplines including football, volleyball, rugby, chess, athletics, motorsport, and golf.
