Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka on Wednesday appointed Burundian Francis Haringingo as their head coach.
He will be assisted by compatriot Pablo Nduwimana. Haringingo takes over from David Ouma who reverts to his role as sporting director while Nduwimana replaces Paul Ogai who was sacked.
Haringingo previously handled Rayon Sports of Rwanda, Kiyovu, Mukura, and Police FC. He officially took over on Wednesday at the club’s training ground at Marist Center in Karen.
At the same time, Burundian striker Fiston Abdul Razak is among high profile players who have been signed by Batoto ba Mungu. He returns to the club eight years after a high-profile transfer to South Africa giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
Others who were unveiled are former Mathare United players Daniel Otieno and Khalid Jumaan Darius Msagha who was released by Bandari, former Kenya Police forward John Ndirangu, goalkeeper Jacob Osano from Nairobi City Stars, and Ian Simiyu from Nzoia Sugar FC.
Oliver Maloba, Mousa Omar, Baron Ochieng, Christian Lubulu, Lucky Mrabu, Answar Shamuni, Andre Kalama, Stephen Otieno, Edwin Lutta, and Franklin Masibo.
Meanwhile, after losing the entire first team, Nzoia Sugar has started rebuilding the team from scratch.
Following the departure of coach Salim Babu who joined Kenya Police assistant coach Peter Juma and team manager John Muraya conducted the trials at Sudi grounds. The club is seeking to recruit 20 players.
