AFC Leopards management has reiterated that they will not turn back on online ticketing ahead of the Mashemeji Derby clash against Gor Mahia on Saturday at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
The club launched online ticketing during the game against Shabana on Sunday last week which was largely successful despite some hitches.
“E-ticketing for AFC Leopards’ home game games is here to stay and shall be used for the much-awaited Mashemeji Derby. Kindly buy your tickets early and show up early for our team,” said a statement from the club.
The club said embracing technology will help the club offer value to fans. Ingwe is also planning to roll out season tickets and more controls on the online platform.
On the hitches experienced during the Shabana game, the club added: “We have however picked lessons from the first experience and wish to reassure you that e-ticketing will be smooth in the upcoming matches.”
“As we prepare for Saturday’s #MashemejiDerby, would like to urge all our fans to get their tickets early for easy verification,” the club said.
At the same time, the club announced that they collected Sh1.4 million from ticket sales in their game against Shabana which was played at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
A total of 6, 152 tickets were sold despite some fans forcing their way into the stadium just before kick-off.
AFC Leopards is the first club in Kenya to introduce e-ticketing. Shabana is also mulling over the introduction of e-ticketing according to a club official.
