Veteran Kenya Police FC defender David Cheche Ochieng is among four players who were dropped from the national team Harambee Stars which traveled to Doha Qatar on Wednesday morning.

Others dropped by coach Engin Firat are Gor Mahia midfielder Austine Odhiambo, Kariobangi Shark’s Stanley Wilson, and Bandari forward Abdallah Hassaan.

The national team will play an international friendly against Qatar on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The team will head back to Kenya on Friday, September 8, 2023, to continue preparations for their match against South Sudan on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

The two friendly matches are part of the Stars’ preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers set to kick off in November. Kenya is in Group F alongside African giants Ivory Coast, the Gambia, Gabon, Seychelles, and Burundi.
