FKF Premier League returnees Shabana have beefed up the squad by signing immediate former AFC Leopards captain Eugine Mukangula.

Club secretary general Elizaphan Kerama confirmed the signing of Mukangula who parted ways with AFC Leopards following the expiry of his contract. “We needed somebody who can steady our midfield. I’m happy with the signing of Mukangula and I’m sure he will add value in the team,” said Kerama. He said the club is set to sign two more players before the closure of the transfer window. “We are targeting a striker and a creative midfielder. We are okay in other departments,” noted Kerama.

Additionally, Kerama revealed that their bid to sign former international John Makwata failed following the closure of the international window. “He is still registered with Botswana’s Township Rollers and since the international window is closed, we would not sign a player who will be available for us in January,” Kerama said.

At the same time, Shabana played to a barren draw against National Super League side Kisumu All Stars at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu. “It was a good game. I gave some new signings an opportunity to impress ahead of our game against Kenya Police on Saturday,” said Shabana coach Sammy Okoth. Shabana will host Kenya Police on Saturday at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

So far, the club has signed defender Rodgers Aloro and striker Johana Mwita fromBandari, left back Hillary Wandera fromKakamega Homeboyz, rightback Prince Ayieko from Nzoia Sugar, goalkeeper Victor Kamungo from Migori Youth, forwards Ezekiel Omuri (MOFA), Japhet Lokayo (Inter Dabaso FC) and Frank Ouya from newly promoted National Super League side Nairobi United.
