Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards plots to raid Nzoia Sugar for five players.

Ingwe as AFC is popularly known plans to sign defensive midfielder Boniface Munyendo, goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi, winger Hassan Beja, left-back Vincent Mahiga, and Randy Bakari.

 Munyendo is also being sought by Kakamega Homeboyz and KCB. Attacking Joseph Mwangi has already left the cane millers for Tusker.

Even though the club was banned from signing players by the World football governing body, the club is in the process of having the ban lifted to allow them enlist players.

At the same time, the club is considering former players Tom Juma and Anthony Kimani for the vacant position of head coach. The club is seeking to replace Belgian Patrick Aussems who parted ways with the club following the expiry of his contract.

In the 2022-2023 season, AFC Leopards finished a poor 7th on the log with 51 points. Ingwe will open their 2023/24 campaign against Talanta FC on August 27.

At the same time, Salim Babu was on Thursday officially unveiled by Kenya Police as an assistant coach. Babu joins the law enforcers from Nzoia Sugar where he was head coach for the last one and a half years.

He joins his old friend and coach, and teacher Francis Baraza.

Nowel Mandi also joins the club as a team doctor. He replaces Wycliffe Omom who joined Tanzania giants Simba as team doctor earlier this month.
