The mother of two revealed the challenges of their engagement, her reluctance toward marriage, and her decision to prioritize her children over societal expectations.

Jackie’s Reluctance to Marry Blessing

In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke on November 13, Jackie revealed she never intended to marry Blessing. Reflecting on their relationship, she stated that from the beginning, she was upfront about her lack of interest in traditional marriage.

“I didn’t want marriage from the start,” she said. “My first marriage was real, and I told Blessing that I didn’t want to walk down the aisle. I wasn’t in a place where marriage aligned with my goals.”

Comparing her time with Blessing to her earlier relationship with the father of her first child, Jackie emphasized that her previous union, with a pilot, felt like her only genuine marriage.

A Wake-Up Call After Zendaya’s Birth

Jackie’s perspective shifted significantly after the birth of her daughter, Zendaya. The experience of becoming a mother again prompted her to reevaluate the relationship, particularly its impact on her children.

“When Zendaya was born, I had a moment of clarity,” she shared. “I kept asking myself if this was the life I wanted for my child and me. But I worried about what people would say.”

Observing fear in her daughter’s eyes was a turning point. Jackie explained that she made the tough decision to focus on her children’s well-being and personal growth.

Parting Ways with Blessing Lung’aho

Jackie eventually asked Blessing to leave their home, acknowledging the difficulty of raising a child as a single parent. Despite her efforts to encourage Blessing to remain active in Zendaya’s life, she felt disheartened when he did not engage as she had hoped.

“When I told him to go, he left. I fought for him to be in our daughter’s life, but you can’t force a man,” she explained. “I can only do so much.”

Drawing from her experience co-parenting her first child, Jackie approached the situation with resilience but admitted it was not easy.

Overcoming Bitterness and Moving Forward

Initially driven by anger, Jackie considered pursuing legal action to ensure support for Zendaya. However, she eventually chose to focus on healing and moving forward for the sake of her children.

“I told God I wanted to work on myself and be a better mother,” she said.
