He will be serving in this position on a full-time basis until the end of the Olympic qualifiers to ensure the team reaches the pinnacle of performance.

Wambua’s first assignment at the helm will be the prestigious Rugby Africa 7s in Zimbabwe on 16/17 September.

This year’s event holds even greater significance as it serves as the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier, adding an extra layer of importance to our team’s performance.

Working alongside Coach Wambua, the Kenya Rugby Union welcomes the following exceptional individuals to the Technical Bench:

Louis Kisia (Assistant Coach)
Steve Sewe (Team Manager)

Andrew Amonde (Strength & Conditioning Coach)
Chris Brown (Consultant, Strength and Conditioning Coach)
Eric Ogweno (Team Liaison).

The collective expertise and dedication of this talented Technical Bench will undoubtedly be the driving force behind our team’s pursuit of Olympic qualification and success, added Mutai.

Their commitment to fostering a culture of excellence aligns perfectly with the core values of the Kenya Rugby Union.
