

Kenya’s national team Harambee Stars has been handed a tough draw for the 2026 Fifa World qualifiers.


Harambee Stars was drawn in group F against giants Cote d’Ivoire Seychelles, Burundi, Gambia, and Gabon.
Kenya were in pot 3 of the draw held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, on Thursday.
The first match of the two-legged qualifiers will be played between 13th November and 21st November 2023.
African football legends Emmanuel Eboue, Asamoah Gyan, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha. Emmanuel Adebayor, Wael Gomaa and Alexandre Song assisted in the draw.
A total of 54 African nations will compete for the available 9.5 allocated spots for Africa, with the qualifiers officially starting in November.
The winners of each group will directly qualify for the tournament. Additionally, the four best runners-up from the groups will advance to the CAF Play-Off tournament, whose winner shall secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This will be the first time the national team will be returning to CAF and FIFA action after a year-long FIFA ban.

The official draw came hours after the 45th CAF General Assembly which was also attended by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President, Gianni Infantino in Abidjan.
