Kibera Black Stars on Wednesday announced parting ways with head coach Samuel Njuguna with immediate effect.
Also leaving the National Super League side assistant coach Said Mohammed and goalkeeper trainer Charles Abwodha.
“The decision to part ways with the three has been made after a thorough evaluation and consideration from both parties. The management board acknowledges the services of the three to Kibera Black Stars.
Despite parting ways, we appreciate their contribution during their time with us and we wish them well in their future endeavors,” the club said in a terse statement.
Njuguna a CAF B license holder joined Black Stars at the beginning of the season taking over from Evans Ogutu. Mohammed also joined Black Stars in August from rivals Darajani Gogo where he was head scout and assistant coach.
Darajani Gogo last week parted ways with head coach Caleb Aringa after a poor start to the season. Veteran Paul Ogai replaced him. Aringa is favorite to take over at Kibera Black Stars.
Black Stars is 15th on the National Super League log with a paltry four points after one win and one draw. The club has lost three games.
Black Stars will host newly promoted Rainbow FC on Saturday at Ligi Ndogo grounds in Nairobi. Last weekend, they lost 2-1 against Kisumu All Stars at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
At the same time, Ibrahim Shikanda on Wednesday rejoined Bungoma Super Stars as head coach.
Shikanda returns to Bungoma Superstars after four years. He was previously part of our team in 2018 for a memorable season before joining Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC, where he served as an Assistant Coach.
“The experienced former Tusker FC, Mumias Sugar FC and Harambee Stars International player brings a wealth of expertise to the touchline. He has an impressive coaching record, having managed Kenya Premier League sides Nzoia Sugar FC and Kakamega Homeboyz,” said Dennis Simiyu, the club’s patron.
