Trasicio Nyamu produced a stellar performance to emerge overall winner of the UGG Golf Day held at Ruiru Sports Club on Saturday. Playing off handicap 15, Nyamu carded an impressive 43 points to top a field of 254 golfers.
Hot on his heels was George Karanja, who claimed the Men’s Winner title with 42 points, while Paul Kiarie finished as Men’s Runner-up on 39 points. Among the ladies, Natasha Wambui delivered a commanding performance to clinch the Lady Winner trophy with 43 points, ahead of Esther Kimani, who posted 38 points.
An elated Nyamu credited his victory to consistency and focus throughout the round. “It was one of those days when everything came together, from my drives to my putting. The course was in great shape, and the competition pushed me to give my best,” he said after receiving his trophy.

The sponsors’ category saw Wilson Thuo take top honors with 36 points, followed closely by Stephen Moche and Erick Mwiti, both on 35 points. Thuo, who also served as the tournament convener, hailed the turnout and community spirit, saying the event had grown into a signature feature on Ruiru’s golfing calendar.
Other standout performers included Sharon Nyambura, who won the Guest Category with 41 points, and Kelvin Metto, who claimed the Gross Winner title with a round of 72 gross. Junior golfer Martha Njeri impressed with 41 points, while Earnest Mungai took the Junior Under-15 crown with 33 points.


The UGG Winner title went to James Waithaka (41 points), with Naomi Njenga named UGG Lady Winner.

Simon Mutinia posted a superb 44 points to take the Division 2 category, while J.G. Mwangi and Kigera Kamau emerged Senior Winner and Runner-up with 39 and 36 points, respectively.
Kelvin Metto and Mary Wanjiku bagged the Longest Drive awards, as Thomas Kinyua and Peris Kahure won the Nearest to the Pin challenges.

The event wrapped up with a prize-giving ceremony marked by camaraderie and celebration. The club announced a packed week ahead, featuring the Tuesday Mini Clubnite, Sam Kang’au & Martin Kiambi Tournament on Thursday, the RSC Ladies Invitational on Saturday, and an NDC League match away against Limuru on Sunday.
