Murang’a Seal coach Vincent Nyaberi says maintaining their Kenya Premier League status will be his main target next season.

“I don’t want to be over-ambitious. My target is to remain in the Kenya Premier League,” Nyaberi said on Monday.
He added: “Most teams which are promoted from lower tier leagues struggle and get relegated after one or two seasons. However, we don’t want to fall into that trap. We have to set manageable expectations,” said Nyaberi who is currently in Nairobi where he is doing his CAF B licensing course.
He at the same time announced the departure of six players from the team that helped them qualify to the KPL. “I don’t want to release the names through the media now. The process of releasing them is ongoing. We want to part ways with them on mutual terms. What I don’t want is an acrimonious process,” he said. Nyaberi added that they are in the process of signing six new players who will join the team in their pre-season training on July 24.
Nyaberi who coached defunct Thika United in the KPL said he is happy to be back in the top-tier league. “In KPL, we play on good pitches and sometimes games are televised. We saw bad things in NSL but now that’s water under the bridge,” Nyaberi said.
He also announced that veteran players John Kiplangat, Kevin Oyimi, and Peter Mwaura have all completed their CAF C courses. “Kiplangat and Oyimi will be assistant coaches cum players while Mwaura is my assistant,” he revealed.
