Shabana has reached an agreement with gaming firm BetBang to be their shirt sponsor for the 2023/24 season.
The sponsorship will be launched at a Nairobi hotel on Sunday afternoon, said the club’s secretary general Elizaphan Kerama.
“After intense negotiations, we have reached an agreement with BetBang to be our main sponsors. The sponsorship is worth Sh20 million,” said Kerama.
During the function, Shabana will also unveil their playing kits. During the function, the women’s and youth teams will also be inaugurated, Kerama added.
Kisii Governor Simba Arati who is the club’s patron will grace the event. “We shall also launch our replicas during the function,” Kerama noted.
Kerama added that the club will camp in Nairobi for a week before returning to Kisii.
Kerama said: “We want to use the one week for the players to bond. As you are aware, we have new and old players who need to gel.”
In Nairobi, they will play against Bandari and KCB FC as part of their pre-season preparations. The club will open their KPL campaign against Murang’a Seal at Homa Bay Stadium.
Kerama said he hopes to finish their transfer business by the end of the upcoming week. “At the moment, we are in the process of applying for club licensing. It’s a rigorous process but we hope we shall get the certificate,” noted Kerama.
All clubs in the KPL and National Super League are supposed to be licensed in order to be allowed to take part in the leagues.
