Shabana remained winless in the Kenya Premier League after battling to a 1-1 draw by a star-studded Kenya Police.

In an evenly balanced match played on Saturday at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Peter Ogechi gave the hosts the lead in the 87th minute but Clinton Kinanga pulled the teams level in the 90th minute after a goal-mouth scramble.

Shabana again collapsed in the 90 minute conceding the third goal in stoppage time. In the opening game against Murang’a Seal and Talanta FC, the Glamour Boys again conceded in stoppage time.

“This is a game we would have won but we conceded again in the 90th minute due to a lapse in concentration. It’s disappointing because we dominated against a star studded team,” said Shabana assistant coach Kevin Momanyi. “we are going to work on this in our next game against Kariobangi Sharks,” he added.

Momanyi was the stand in coach in the absence of head coach Sammy Okoth who is in Tanzania doing a CAF B coaching course.

Police assistant coach Salim Babu said: “I’m not happy with the outcome. This is a team we would have thrashed.” In other matches played on Saturday, AFC Leopards and Muhoroni Youth played to a barren draw at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani while at Mbaraki Stadium, Bandari edged Ulinzi Stars 1-0. Kenyan international Abdalla Hassan scored for the Dockers.

Kakamega Homeboyz upset Tusker 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium. Moses Shuma scored twice for Homeboyz while Erc Zakayo pulled one back for the Brewers.

Nzoia Sugar held Bidco United to a 1-1 draw at Sudi Stadium. Dennis Wafula scored for Nzoia while Desmond Agofa equalized for Bidco.
