Talanta shocks log leaders Posta Rangers to end their unbeaten run - Kenyan News

Talanta FC upset Posta Rangers to end their 100 percent start of the season in the FKF Premier League on Saturday.

Alfred Tanui gave the mailmen the lead in the 5th minute before Alex Juma doubled the lead from the spot.

The penalty was awarded after Juma was brought down in the area by Kennedy Odhiambo. The day got from bad to worse for Odhiambo after he turned the ball into his own net in the 78th minute

Dinken Mwema headed home Titus Achesa’s free kick for the log leaders’ consolation goal. Despite the loss, Posta Rangers remain on top of the premier league table.

Elsewhere, Sofapaka shocked big-spending Kenya Police 1-0 to record their first win of the season.

Juma Khalid scored the all-important goal for Batoto ba Mungu after he was put through by Burundi international Fiston Abdulrazak. It was the first loss for new Kenya Police head coach Zdravko Logarusic.

In a late National Super League kick-off, Ben Chabicha and Dennis Mabeya scored late goals as Gusii FC beat second on the log Naivas FC 2-0 at Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho.
