A tragic accident occurred along the Machakos-Kitui Road on Thursday, claiming the lives of two individuals when a car they were traveling in veered off the road and plunged into the Thwake River.

Kithangaini Sub-location Assistant Chief, Stephen Mutua Ndambuki, confirmed that the ill-fated car had five passengers at the time of the accident. While two occupants died instantly, the remaining three survived, though one survivor fled the scene during the rescue operation.
