Francis Baraza has become the first coach to be sacked in the current FKF Kenya Premier League season.

He was fired by Kenya Police and replaced by former Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarušić who was unveiled on Thursday. He will be assisted by Salim Babu. The tactician started training immediately after he was unveiled by the club’s chairman Munga Nyale.

“It’s official, Zdravko Logarušić has completed his move to POLICE F.C. as the  Head coach, The tactician alongside his assistant coach Salim will steer the team toward its vision. Welcome home Coach,” the club announced on their social media pages.

Baraza and goalkeeper coach Idd Salim were last week sent on leave by the club’s officials following a spate of poor results. The club remains winless, four matches into the season.

Logarušić’s first game will be on Saturday against Bidco United at Police Sacco Stadium. Last season, the impatient law enforcers sacked Sammy Pamzo Omollo after just two games in charge.

Shabana coach Sammy Okoth and AFC Leopards’ Tom Juma are also in danger of being sacked following a poor run. The clubs are yet to record a win in the current campaign. Shabana and AFC Leopards will collide on Sunday at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Okoth has two games to save his job according to Shabana chairman Jared Nivaton Ombongi. After the game against AFC Leopards, Shabana will face off with former KPL champions Tusker.

Juma is also under pressure at Ingwe. Recently, he was saved by police from irate Ingwe fans who were baying for his blood.
