A dramatic incident unfolded in Trans Nzoia County earlier today as a mob disrupted an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) operation at the residence of Governor George Natembeya. The raid was part of an investigation into allegations of irregular procurement and fraudulent payments amounting to Ksh. 1.4 billion by the county government.

The EACC, armed with court-issued search warrants, was conducting searches at Governor Natembeya’s home, his office, and properties linked to four other individuals implicated in the investigation. The alleged financial malpractices are said to have occurred during the 2022/2023 to 2024/2025 fiscal years, focusing on suspected misuse of public funds in county projects.
