A devastating road accident in Naivasha, Nakuru County, has claimed the lives of seven family members, including four children and three adults. The fatal crash occurred on Sunday night along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road near Mirera estate, when a Land Cruiser collided head-on with a trailer.


Family Mourns Multiple Losses
According to police reports, the victims were returning from a memorial service in Longonot for a relative who had passed away the previous week. The tragedy has left their family in deep sorrow, mourning the loss of a father, his three sons, and other close relatives.
Alice Wangui, a sister to the deceased adults, confirmed that three of the deceased minors were siblings, while the fourth child was the son of a worker employed by the family.
Crash Details and Police Investigation
Naivasha OCPD Antony Keter revealed that preliminary investigations suggest the Land Cruiser was attempting to overtake when the collision occurred. The impact was fatal for three male adults, who died instantly, while the four children succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
Fortunately, the two occupants of the trailer escaped unharmed.
Aftermath and Call for Road Safety
The bodies of the victims have been moved to a local mortuary, while the wrecked vehicles have been towed to the Naivasha Police Station for further investigations.
