WAJIR MCA YUSSUF AHMED REUNITES WITH FAMILY AFTER SIX-MONTH ORDEAL - Kenyan News

In a heartwarming turn of events, Wajir Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yussuf Hussein Ahmed, who had been missing since September 2024, has finally been reunited with his family. The Dela Ward MCA returned home on Saturday evening to an outpouring of joy and relief from his loved ones in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

Family and Community Celebrate His Safe Return

Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Jehow confirmed the news, expressing her gratitude on social media. “This is a monumental relief, a tidal wave of joy. Every resident of Wajir, especially the people of Eldas, has shared in this burden, and today, we share in the immense joy,” Jehow posted on Facebook.

She continued, “My heart swells with gratitude. May Allah bless him, protect him, and grant him peace. Alhamdulillah.”

Details of His Disappearance

Ahmed’s disappearance on September 13, 2024, sent shockwaves across the country. Reports indicated he was abducted along Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area. A month later, authorities recovered a body from Lake Yahud that was initially thought to be Ahmed’s.

The body, which showed signs of severe torture, was subjected to two separate DNA tests. Both confirmed that it was not Ahmed, dashing fears but deepening the mystery surrounding his abduction.

County Assemblies Demand Answers

Ahmed’s prolonged absence had significant political repercussions. The 47 County Assemblies across Kenya threatened to adjourn all House sittings in protest, demanding the government expedite efforts to find their missing colleague.

MCA Ahmed’s disappearance came just days after he complied with summons from security agencies in Wajir. Many speculated that his abduction was linked to state interference, though no official explanation has been provided.

A Community United in Hope

The safe return of Ahmed has reignited calls for better security measures and transparency in handling cases of forced disappearances. His family and community remain grateful for his safe return and continue to urge authorities to investigate the circumstances of his abduction.
