The eighth leg of the Road to Somabay Golf Series was successfully held at Vet Lab Sports Club on Saturday, drawing an impressive field of 244 registered golfers for one of the biggest editions of the series so far.

Sponsored by CIB Bank, the tournament brought together golfers from across the country for a memorable day of competition, reinforcing the Road to Somabay Series’ reputation as one of Kenya’s premier amateur golf circuits. Players competed for top honours and the coveted qualification slots to the Road to Somabay Grand Finale.

Leading the day’s performances was Keith Gretton, who emerged as the Overall Winner after returning an impressive 41 Stableford points off handicap 27. Martin Makundi finished as the Overall Runner-up with an excellent 40 points.

In Division A, Niral Shah claimed top honours with 38 points, while Gulraaj Sehmi finished runner-up with 36 points. Division B honours went to Nelson Shiahale, who returned 38 points, edging Faith Macharia, who finished second with 37 points. Kyong Suh topped Division C with 34 points.

Following the day’s competition, the following players booked their places at the prestigious Road to Somabay Grand Finale:

– Keith Gretton – Overall Winner

– Martin Makundi – Overall Runner-up

– Niral Shah – Division A Winner

– Nelson Shiahale – Division B Winner

The next tournament in the Road to Somabay Series will be held on 11th July at Karen Country Club, where golfers will once again compete for qualification spots and continue their journey toward the Grand Finale.
