Police have launched investigations into a series of disturbing deaths reported across the country, with one chilling case emerging from Nairobi’s upmarket Peponi area where a man was found dead in his home under unclear circumstances.

BODY DISCOVERED ON COUCH IN NAIROBI’S PEPONI ESTATE

Concern turned to horror in Peponi, Nairobi, on Monday, June 30, when residents found the lifeless body of a man sprawled on his couch. The deceased, who lived alone, had not been seen by neighbors over the weekend, prompting them to check on him. Upon arrival, they found the door ajar and the man unresponsive, half-naked, with no visible signs of injury.

Authorities were called to the scene, and the body was transferred to a nearby mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The man’s family has since been notified.

MOTHER ARRESTED IN MACHAKOS AFTER CHILD’S DEATH

In another heartbreaking incident in Mutituni, Machakos County, a two-year-old boy was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital with suspicious strangulation marks on his neck. The boy’s mother, who accompanied him to the facility, claimed the child had fallen at home.

Police swiftly arrested the woman, stating that an autopsy will be crucial in clarifying the cause of death and determining whether foul play was involved.

BUNGOMA MOB KILLS SUSPECTED THIEF IN MOB JUSTICE ATTACK

Over in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, a man suspected of theft was brutally lynched by a group of boda boda riders near Chepkoya Primary School. The man’s body, bearing severe injuries, was discovered at the scene shortly after the alleged attack.

Law enforcement officials condemned the killing and warned the public against resorting to mob justice. They reiterated that suspects should be handed over to the authorities to face legal proceedings.

SIBLING RIVALRY TURNS DEADLY IN SIAYA COUNTY

Meanwhile, in Bondo, Siaya County, a domestic dispute between two brothers ended in bloodshed. Victor Katana Odhiambo was allegedly hacked to death with a machete by his sibling following an intense altercation. After initially fleeing the scene, the suspect surrendered to police after pressure from local residents.

Shockingly, investigations revealed that the suspect is a recently released ex-convict who had previously served time for the murder of his uncle in 2024.

All the bodies have been taken to local mortuaries for autopsies as investigations into these troubling incidents intensify. Authorities have urged Kenyans to remain calm and allow due process to take its course in all criminal matters.
