Following the recent contract extensions of midfielder Fabian Adikiny and forward Ian Simiyu, Tusker FC has confirmed that defenders Tom Teka and Francis Oduor have also extended their stays at Ruaraka, with both players signing one-year extensions to their current deals.
Vice-captain Teka will now head into his fifth season with the Brewers after joining from Kariobangi Sharks ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The experienced defender has established himself as one of the team’s leaders, playing an instrumental role in Tusker’s successful FKF MozzartBet Cup campaign, which culminated in lifting the title in Kwale three weeks ago.
The dependable centre-back featured prominently throughout the season, providing leadership both on and off the pitch as the team secured its first Cup title in a decade.
“I am delighted to have committed a further year to the team. My dream since I joined was to win a major trophy and play Continental football, and I am glad that we have achieved this. This is the reward for the hard work we put in to win the Cup, and I am sure we will have a better campaign next season,” Teka said after signing his new deal.
Oduor, meanwhile, will embark on his second season at the club after joining Tusker ahead of the just-concluded campaign. The centre-back, who previously featured for Bidco United and KCB quickly established himself as a key figure in the heart of the defence.
His commanding performances, particularly following the arrival of head coach Julien Mette, saw him become one of the first names on the team sheet before an injury curtailed his campaign in the closing stages of the season.
“This is a really huge boost of confidence from the team to offer me another year on my contract, and I am really grateful. My first season was good, though not as perfect as I would have wished, but now I have another opportunity to show what I can do. I not only have the chance to continue growing locally, but also on the continental stage as we prepare to play in the CAF Confederation Cup,” Oduor said.
The contract renewals are part of Tusker FC’s ongoing preparations for the 2026/27 season, with the club continuing to build a strong and competitive squad ahead of its domestic campaign and return to continental football.
