NAROK, KENYA — A 35-year-old man lost his life in a deadly shooting outside Mara Junction Night Club in the early hours of Saturday, July 13, 2025, following an argument over a parking space.


The tragic incident occurred at around 2:30 AM, when a confrontation broke out between two motorists: Mandela Nabala, the victim, who was driving a Subaru Forester, and Paul Sena, a 53-year-old licensed firearm holder behind the wheel of a Toyota Fortuner.
HEATED EXCHANGE TURNS DEADLY
According to a police report filed by Ambrose Lelesit, the club’s proprietor, the disagreement over parking quickly escalated into violence. During the altercation, Sena allegedly drew a Glock pistol and fired a single round, striking Nabala in the chin.
Police officers from Narok Police Station, located about 7 kilometers from the scene, responded swiftly under the leadership of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS).
VICTIM DIES ON ARRIVAL AT HOSPITAL
Nabala was immediately rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital, but doctors confirmed that he was dead on arrival due to the severity of the gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officers processed the crime scene, recovered one spent cartridge, and confiscated Sena’s pistol loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition. The suspect’s Toyota Fortuner was also impounded for further investigation.
SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AS POLICE LAUNCH FULL INVESTIGATION
The suspect, Paul Sena, is currently in police custody, and authorities have launched a thorough probe to determine whether the use of lethal force was justified. The incident has sparked concerns over gun violence and misuse of civilian-held firearms in the country.

The shooting has reignited public debate on the need for stricter regulations governing the use of licensed firearms in Kenya, especially in public spaces such as nightclubs and entertainment joints.
